Why NURA is unlike every prayer app and every AI organizer
There are good prayer apps, and there are good AI organizers. NURA, built by NuroNova Genix Co. (Delaware; headquartered in Houston, Texas), is the only one that is both at once — and it earns the claim through engineering, not adjectives.
Prayer apps stop at prayer. Organizers ignore it.
A prayer app tells you when Maghrib is. A calendar app tells you your 5:30 is across town. Neither knows that leaving on time for the 5:30 protects Maghrib, or that a free stretch after Asr is the moment to close an overdue task. NURA fuses them: the same wrist that shows the next prayer shows the Future Window — NOW, NEXT, LATER, PREPARE — and a single calm state that reconciles worship, travel and work into one answer to "what now?"
The prayer times are computed, and provably so
NURA does not download prayer times. It computes them on-device from solar astronomy — Julian day, the sun's declination and the equation of time, then hour angles — for your exact coordinates. That has real consequences:
- Deterministic: the same inputs always yield the same times. No server, no model, no drift.
- Offline: prayer, Qibla, the athan and every daily tool work with no connection and no account.
- Honest at the edges: after-midnight Isha is filed under the right prayer-day; high-latitude nights use a named rule and say so; polar day returns "unavailable" instead of an invented time.
Worship is astronomy here, and nothing else touches it — the language model may explain a setting, but it can never produce, adjust or influence a single prayer time.
The AI is a reader, not a driver
Most "AI" assistants are a chat box guessing at your life. NURA's optional assistant, Noora, is wired to the engines through a small set of read-only tools — the current time, prayer times, the day's shape, routines, health readings, location, presence, and the contact book. The design is deliberately one-way: the model may ask; it may not act, change a setting or reach the network. The engines decide what is true and what is permitted, so every guarantee in the app stays verifiable. Each tool is a pure function returning a short, plain-language line with no coordinates or raw scores — because anything handed to the model can end up spoken aloud in a room.

Private by architecture, not by promise
There is no NuroNova server for the core app. Your settings, places, rest estimate, health entries, contacts and any saved key are stored on your device — not on our servers, because we don't run any. The AI is bring-your-own-key: your message text travels directly from your phone, under your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Together account, to the provider you chose. Keys live only in your device's storage, are never logged, and are shown only as their last four characters. NURA never proxies, sees or stores them.
A living watch, not a wallpaper
The Celestia face is a real-time Canvas rendered at device-pixel ratio: a rotating Earth with its true day/night terminator seen from the Moon, a moon-phase from the synodic month, a flying tourbillon, a mechanical day-date, and a domed sapphire — animated by requestAnimationFrame, and reduced to one honest frame per second when the system asks for less motion.
