NURA is a free, watch-first Muslim life companion for iPhone, built by NuroNova Genix Co. (a Delaware company headquartered in Houston, Texas). It puts one calm question on your wrist — what should I do now? — and answers it three ways at once: with prayer, with time, and with a living watch face that shows the sky it is all computed from. Prayer times, the Qibla, the full athan, and every daily tool work offline, with no account and no sign-in.

Prayer times, computed — not fetched

Most apps download prayer times from a server. NURA calculates them on your device from solar astronomy for your exact coordinates. The engine walks the standard path — Julian day, the sun's declination and the equation of time, then the hour angles for each prayer — the same deterministic method behind published astronomical tables. Given the same inputs it always returns the same times, with no network call and no model in the loop.

11 calculation methods — Muslim World League (the default, Fajr 18°, Isha 17°), ISNA, Egyptian, Umm al-Qura, Karachi, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Singapore, Tehran and Jafari.
Asr by school — Shafi'i (shadow factor 1) or Hanafi (shadow factor 2), selectable.
Honest at the edges — high-latitude rules for nights where the sun never reaches the angle, correct handling of an Isha that falls after midnight, and a plain "unavailable" during polar day rather than a fabricated time for someone's worship.

A Day Director that actually directs the day

NURA's deterministic day engine turns your real agenda into a single, glanceable understanding of the day — a Future Window of NOW / NEXT / LATER / PREPARE, one intelligence state (Leave now, Prepare now, Focus, Overdue, Next up, or Clear day), a Life Heat level, and at most one calm notification. Every recommendation carries a plain-language why ("leave for your 3:00 in 12 min — it needs about 15 min of travel"). It never invents an event, and it only shows "leave in" when the item itself carries travel time. It recomputes once a second, on your phone.

Engines the AI can read — and a watch face that shows the sky

Underneath sit deterministic engines: prayer, the Day Director, presence (an estimate of last night's rest from the iPhone's motion coprocessor — no background mode), a health organizer that is explicitly never a doctor, agenda and alarms handed to iOS so they ring with the app closed, and contacts. The optional AI assistant, Noora, reads these engines as read-only tools (get_prayer_times, get_day, get_location, get_health, get_presence and more) so it answers from what is true rather than from guesswork.

Crowning it is Celestia: a hand-drawn animated Canvas dial rendered at device-pixel ratio. A live Earthrise seen from the Moon — a rotating Earth with its real day/night terminator cresting a grey lunar horizon — a silvery moon-phase, a flying tourbillon with a ruby, a mechanical day-date at three o'clock, dauphine hands and a domed sapphire. It shows the real time, and honours reduced-motion by drawing one still frame a second.

Everything for the day of a Muslim

Morning and evening adhkar counters, a Qur'an khatm progress tracker (progress only — no mushaf text is embedded), the 99 Names in the canonical Tirmidhi order, Ramadan and fasting, everyday duas, a zakat calculator (nisab plus 2.5%), tasbih, world clock, water, the Hijri date, and a sunrise/sunset arc.

Private by architecture

There is no NuroNova server for the core app. Your prayer settings, places, rest estimate, health entries, contacts and any saved API key live on your device, not on our servers — we don't run any. The AI is bring-your-own-key: only when you enable it and paste your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Together key does your message text go, directly from your phone under your own provider account, to the provider you chose.

NURA (Capacitor 6 + React 19) ships with roughly 1,327 automated tests. It passed an independent 14-agent adversarial bug audit (22 real bugs found, 21 fixed and shipped) and a 14-agent security review.
