NURA for reverts: your first year of salah, made calm

If you have recently embraced Islam, the mechanics of daily worship can feel like a lot at once: five prayers whose times move every day, a direction to face, words to learn. NURA is built to carry that quietly for you — free, with no account, and with nothing to prove to anyone.

Prayer times, without guesswork

Set your location once and NURA computes your five daily prayer times directly on your iPhone, from solar astronomy, for your exact coordinates. There is no "a server said so" — the same math every reputable mosque uses (the sun's declination and hour angles for your latitude) runs on your device, offline. The default follows the Muslim World League convention, and you can switch the convention or the Asr method (Shafi'i or Hanafi) in Settings when you are ready. When a prayer is next, NURA tells you how long you have.

The athan, in the room with you

At each prayer time NURA plays the full athan, and because your prayers and alarms are handed to iOS, reminders still ring with the app closed. You are not tethered to a screen to know it is time.

Which way to face

The Qibla tab points you toward the Kaaba using the initial great-circle bearing — the true shortest-path direction over a sphere, which is why from parts of North America the Qibla is north-east rather than the south-east a flat map suggests. If NURA has no location fix, it says so honestly rather than pointing you confidently at the wrong horizon.

The words, with their sources

Learning what to say is where a revert most wants a trustworthy hand. NURA gives you:

• Morning and evening adhkar — a deliberately small, authentic starter set, each remembrance labelled with its source (Bukhari, Muslim), with a tap-counter so you keep your place through the repetitions.
• The 99 Names of Allah — the canonical at-Tirmidhi ordering, exactly ninety-nine, each with its Arabic, a transliteration, and a plain-English meaning.
• Everyday du'as and a tasbih counter for after salah.
• A Qur'an khatm tracker to mark your progress through a full reading.

Worship content in NURA is never invented. Where scripture is recited from the Mushaf — Ayat al-Kursi, for example — NURA references it rather than reprinting it.

Ask, without embarrassment

Everyone starts with questions they would rather not ask out loud. NURA's assistant, Noora, is optional: if you add your own AI key, you can ask her "when is Maghrib," "how long until Isha," or "what did I plan today," and she answers from the app's real engines — never guessing a prayer time. You decide whether she is switched on at all; every core tool works without her.

Private, and free

There is no account to create and no sign-in. There is no NuroNova server holding your habits — your settings and progress live on your iPhone. NURA does not ask you to prove how much you know or how long you have been Muslim. It simply keeps the day's worship in order so you can give it your attention.
